Hive Mind Millinery
As I’ve mentioned before, and I will mention again, Twitter is a wonderful resource.
It allows for you to not only have people connect with you for what you do, but allows you to find others who interest you.
It also allows for you to build wonderful relationships, and learn more about the world you live in.
Having grown up in England, and currently living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Dominique brings an elegant, modern, and truly fresh take on millinery creating one-of-a-kind pieces which are much more than just hats, they are pieces of art.
From a young age Dominique was interested in fashion and the arts which led her to focus much of her education on art and design as she grew yet when it came to university, she decided upon a much more “practical” (and I use the term loosely) approach and decided to study architecture. Upon her completion at the esteemed Oxford School of Architecture, the world of fashion and design pulled her back in and she started to learn more of the art of millinery.
When asked why she opted for millinery, Dominique had this to say,
“Too often I hear people stating they can not wear hats, and this is simply not true. Everyone has a hat for them, they just need a good milliner to help them find it“
Dominique’s business Hive Mind Millinery creates a variety of unique pieces from Fascinators and whimsies, to bowlers and fedoras, all of which are hand crafted and hand finished. Created from the best and finest millinery felts as well as straws, the hats are blocked over antique wooden blocks. Once the hats have gone through the drying process, they are given a wired brim and hand finished with a beautiful feature trim.
With styles for both men and women, each design is custom fitted to the head using fabrics, crowns, fabrics, and colors that not only work with the client’s complexion and style, but that is suitable for their face shape.
Known for creating wonderfully unique and marvelous pieces, Hive Mind Millinery also adds their trademark clean lines, elegant designs, and strong use of color leaving those who are privileged to own one of these meticulously created hats, one that will last them for a lifetime.
