Noon by Noor SS13
New York Fashion Week may be long gone, and we may currently be in the heart of Toronto Fashion Week, but I always like to keep some of my favorite collections to talk about later on so that they stand out from the rest, because these are collections that stand out to me. I’ve mentioned Noon by Noor before on my site, and it was their first showing in New York this year which I was super excited about, because it is always fantastic to see designers moving up and out of their comfort zone and on to bigger and better things. Shaikha Noor Rashid Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Mohammed Al Khalifa, the designers behdind Noon by Noor did an absoluetly amazing job this season, and it was such a beautiful collection.
Concentrating on sleek contouring and a more modernist approach, pared back separates are realized in the most luxurious of fabrics. Using Luxe utilitarian tailoring creates a sense of balance to the structure and fluidity that is evident in this collection. As a means of keeping classic shapes and designs modern and fresh, they utilized unexpected textiles; there were brocade biker jackets, silk chiffon tees, bronze metallic shorts as well as metallic jacquard suiting which breathed life into these truly timeless forms
Known for their distinguished eveningwear, Noon By Noor present gowns that float effortlessly around the body, a mille feuille of cascading silk chiffon. Exuding sophistication and allure, complementary hand embellished accents command attention and radiate luxurity.
